The Manchester
Police Departments Foot Race for the Fallen first ran in October
of 2007, almost a year to the day after Officer Michael Briggs was killed
in the line of duty. This race reflects the commitment of the department
and community to memorialize our fallen brothers: Officer Briggs, Officer
Ralph Miller, Inspector William Moher and Sgt. Henry McAllister.
We invite any
and all law enforcement officials, civilians and runners of all skill
levels to participate. The 5K course is flat, fast, and US Track and Field
Certified. We are also listed as a Grand Prix event for the race season,
so please expect runners of all classifications.
Register early!
Our first race was a great success, with over 800 participants and we
expect well over 1,000 this year. The first 500 registrants will receive
a free, moisture wicking, short sleeve T-shirt. Log onto www.mpdrace.com
to register online.
We hope to
see you at the race!
Please join us. Registration is from 8:30 to
10:30 am. The race starts at 11:00 am.
You determine when it finishes!
Our race
could not have been made possible without the support of our two primary
sponsors, Members First Credit Union and Coca Cola of Manchester...
